On the back of a landmark decision by the Reserve Bank of India to license Small Finance Banks, the microfinance industry is moving fast on the opportunity to convert into a Bank. Self-governing body MFIN, has already been at work.
It is hosting a meet of chief microfinance stakeholders to discuss small finance guidelines. With the involvement of practitioners like Dr Rajiv Lall of IDFC, Dr Rajat Kathuria of ICRIER, the meet will delve into salient guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank. It will also see a panel discuss with Samit Ghosh of Ujjivan, CEO of MFIN Alok Prasad and Arohan CEO & MFIN Board member Manoj Nambiar.
Intellcap Group acquired Arohan in 2012 in a landmark acquisition for the industry.
Closing remarks at the event will be presented by Vijay Mahajan of Basix.
